3. Open App and Permissions
After installing the app:
- Open the Steering Assist App
- Set your preferred language, which can also be adjusted in settings later
4. Connect to the Steering Assist Module
Preparation
- Turn on the ignition so the module has power
- Wait for the status LED to turn green. This may take 15 seconds
- Make sure you are within approximately 5 meters of the vehicle
Connect within 10 minutes
It is important to connect within 10 minutes of turning on the module. After this time, the module returns to sleep mode to save energy. Once you have connected, the Bluetooth connection remains active until you manually disconnect or the module is turned off.
Making the Connection
- Open the app and tap "Add Device" or "Bluetooth" in the bottom menu
- Grant permission for Bluetooth usage
- Grant permission for location services (required for Bluetooth scanning)
- Wait for the connection to be established
- The device is now added to your vehicles
- (Optional) Give the vehicle a recognizable name by tapping the model name in the dashboard
Why location permission?
Android requires location permission to scan for Bluetooth devices. The app does not use your location for any other purposes.
- Open the app and go to "My Vehicles"
- Select your vehicle from the list
- Tap "Connect"
- Wait for the connection to be established
Connection problems?
If your vehicle has been added before, you can only reconnect via "My Vehicles". This means that using the "Bluetooth" button in the bottom menu will not work for reconnecting.
It is possible to manage multiple vehicles in the app. Follow these steps to add a new vehicle:
- Open the app and go to "My Vehicles"
- Tap the "+" icon or "Bluetooth" in the bottom menu to add a new vehicle
